Assignment 1 - A History of Violence

We see Tom comforting his daughter when she fears monsters are in her room, showing us Tom’s gentleness.

We see Tom has a happy family when his wife and son come to help comfort the daughter. The happy family picture is reinforced when we see them all having breakfast together the next morning. 

We see by the way they flirt that Tom and his wife still have a spark in their relationship.

We see by the friendly way people greet him that Tom is well liked in town 

We see that Tom owns a diner in a small Midwestern town.
