Assignment 2 - A History of Violence

Tom sees Fogarty’s car outside the diner, signaling that Fogarty is not leaving Tom alone. 

Fogarty signals that he’s willing to harm Tom’s family by briefly kidnapping Tom’s daughter, then Tom’ son. 

Upon learning that Tom is really Joey, Tom’s wife and daughter feel they no longer know Tom, causing a schism in the family. 

The sheriff suspects Tom isn’t really Tom; though a friend of Tom’s, he may feel obligated to subject Tom/Joey to the proper legal channels. 

Tom shows Joey’s violent side in a physical encounter with his wife; Joey is now “in the house.”
