Dear Gotham,

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I recently signed a contract with my dream literary agency, and I credit Gotham Writers Workshop with helping me reach this milestone.

Since signing up for Fiction I in 2002, I’ve taken several of Gotham’s Novel Writing courses, both in NYC and online. The class camaraderie and the caliber of the instructors have far surpassed other writing workshops I’ve participated in over the years.

The constructive feedback provided by teachers and students alike have improved my command of craft. In 2010, my first published short story appeared in a noir anthology by Akashic Books, and the novel manuscript that I wrote in 2012 represented a quantum leap from the earlier novel workshopped in many, many Gotham classes.

Today, snippets of class conversation continue to haunt me both as I critique peers’ work and as I read for pleasure, generally when struck by something either really awful or truly amazing.

I recommend Gotham workshops to all the aspiring writers I meet. The classes deliver excellent information and very good value. If you’re serious about upping your writing game, Gotham will help you get there in a safe, supportive environment.
