Hi from Canoeku!
Did anyone think this through
Poems in canoes
Sorry if this card
Seems a little bit soggy
Canoes are tippy
This hasn’t been fun
There’s no end of Haikuing
The paddles are pens
So please come save me
Before I get all pruney
And my hand gets cramped
Hope to see you soon

FINALIST
Dearest Mother and Father,
This “outdoor camp” is horrendous. The cabins are absolutely ramshackle, though Mr. Usher, the head counselor, hardly takes notice. His ghastly pallor is rivaled only by his sister Madeline’s.
I am continually distracted: for one, a black cat follows me, whose presence fills me with inexplicable dread. I’m also unable to sleep most nights, due to an incessant ticking that seems to emanate from the cabin walls.
Fortunately, I did meet a radiant girl, Lenore; we have vowed to keep acquaintances.
Shall I return next year? My answer is brief: never more.
Your devoted son nevertheless,
Edgar
